Chinese Suzhou embroidery is a traditional art which has a high requirement on hand skills. The silk strand used for the body of a fish should be thicker, giving people a sense of weight. If you want to embroider a stone, or a tree trunk, you must use thick thread, and a more random pattern. And for the stitching of a cat, a color change must be used for its fur, then the finished fur of the cat will be as vivid as real cat fur.

The last key point is that the needlework should be dense. The low quality embroidery is just printing the base picture, then matching it with several threads with similar color, and it will give people the impression of embroidery if you stand far away from the picture. But if you look at it carefully, you will find the pattern in the back.( Since the picture is printed, and after a period of time, the color of the ink will fade, it doesn’t last long.) This kind of embroidery is fake.

An embroidery with high art value also has the base picture, but no matter how you check the picture, you will never find it on the base. The base picture has been covered by silk thread.( Good embroidery is usually made by hand. The procedure of Mechanical Graphing and manual graphing is different . Mechanical Graphing Computer jets the picture, then fixes it in the supporting frame. And because silk is quite flexible, it is easy to be deformed when fixed into the frame. But manual embroidery is different , it is fixed into a drawing frame first, then they embroider it. So it’s impossible to deform. The high value embroidery does not only need the embroidering technique, but also they need the craftsmen knowledge of painting. Because there is no base picture , only a profile of the picture, for color they need the talent of the craftsman. So a good piece of Chinese Suzhou embroidery is not only imitation, but also includes the talent of the craftsman.

The disordered stitching embroidery has a special requirements on the thickness of thread, but also thread angle is critical. To use the color of the thread to show the bright and dark sides of the picture, they need the crafts man to have a deep understanding of the application of color.

3. The process of the artwork’s color and art effect. That means the brightness and color should match well, and transition naturally. A Look At The Rich Man And Lazarus

Luke 16:19 - 31

The rich man was probably a man of royal lineage, a king or perhaps a prince, for the color of his clothes was purple which is the color of royalty and it seems that Jesus wouldn’t mention this fact unless it had great significance. Also the fine linen he wore indicates how very rich he was and gives us a yardstick to show the vast chasm that exists between the very rich and very poor and the indifference the one has for the other. This rich man fared sumptuously which is to say all that was set before him was of the very best that money could buy. We can look at the word “sumptuously” according to the Greek and find its meaning is “Shining & Bright.” Can you imagine sitting down to a table spread with the finest and most expensive food prepared by the very best chefs in the world. The table is covered with a silken table cloth and the glasses are of the most expensive crystal. The plates are of pure gold and the serving bowls are silver. Shining and Bright is a very good description of the splendor in which this man lived.

Then we have Lazarus, a poor man who lived a life of poverty, though the scriptures don’t tell us how long Lazarus had lived this way, I believe it was a life of poverty from childhood brought on by a crippling disease. Lazarus was laid at the gate of the rich man which means he couldn’t make his way there himself. Verse 21 says he was full of sores which means in the Greek that he was covered with ulcers or open wounds. These ulcers were probably caused by laying or sitting in one place for long periods of time, not being able to move. A life of pain and misery, a life of hunger and thirst, a life of begging and pleading for even a crumb of bread to eat. This was the life of Lazarus. But though Lazarus lived a tortured life, he feared God and worshiped Him. Lazarus looked and saw beyond this material world to a world to come, and even though his body was weak and diseased, his spirit prevailed. Many people would and do take there own lives because they give up and fall into the pit of misery and despair, they curse their life, and God, but not Lazarus, because scripture says he died (naturally) “and was carried by the Angels into Abraham’s bosom.”

Lazarus dies and is “Carried by the Angels” which according to the Greek, “he was not carried like a sack of flower, but born up in arms as of someone who is precious and greatly loved, carried like a newborn baby that has experienced a long hard childbirth and has now sprouted to new life.

But in contrast to Lazarus the rich man is buried, placed in the ground and seemingly forgotten by the world or perhaps the world is rejoicing over his death and the end of the repression which he imposed on those less fortunate then he. In any case this man who was so rich and powerful in life, now finds himself in torment, being cast into hell which the Greek describes as “the unseen world” which I believe indicates that hell is a totally dark place where one cannot even see the flames which cause the great pain experienced there.

Even being in the great pain and torment, the rich man lifts up his eyes (v23) and through the darkness surrounding him sees Abraham at a great distance with Lazarus being tenderly held in his arms. Now the rich man cries out to Abraham “Father Abraham have mercy on me,” what a cry that must have been. A cry of desperation from a man who has spent a life in comfort, and now finds himself in pain and anguish and not just a cry but a scream tearing from his dry and parched throat with only one thing in mind, one great need to be satisfied. I would think that at this time the overwhelming burden this man carried would be one of repentance and guilt for his sin. But not this man! Water is the only thing this sinner can think about, a need to once again satisfy the lust of the body at the expense of the soul.

We must all take to heart Gods word while we have the opportunity and look to Jesus for our salvation and the forgiveness of our sin. We must repent and turn from the life of our past and let God lead us into the life of our future. To wait is to risk sharing this rich mans destiny where there is no repentance, remorse, or salvation but only eternity in hell, eternity in pain, eternity in darkness.

This man also beside his need of water, still has a need of being served. In (v24) he begs Abraham “send Lazarus” to satisfy his thirst. Even though he is condemned to eternity in hell and everlasting torment, still his old nature prevails, even after death. This plainly shows that if there is to be any change, it must take place here, on this earth, or we will forever regret missing the opportunity to experience that change that God can make in our lives.

Passover and Pentecost differences settled!

Why do we differ on Passover and Pentecost? Is it because our Father God left us in the dark? Has the God of law and order left us in chaos and confusion? Are we unable to “prove all things” from the Scriptures - as we’re commanded - because we’re unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the correct dates to observe God’s holy days? DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

Since there are many questions on this holy subject, we must start from the premise that God’s Word is true, consistent and does not contradict itself (John 10:35) We must look for those basic Scriptures that are black and white and build our biblical case upon them. Such supportive Scriptures are actually abundantly available and the biblical evidence is overwhelming! Let us shine the Light of God’s Word on our prayerful study with open minds, hearts and Bibles (Isa. 8:20; John 3:19-21; Acts 17:11).

The apostle Paul was inspired to write for the record that “the oracles of God” were committed to the Jews. The sacred calendar is clearly a part of “the oracles of God” (Ex. 12:2; Lev. 23:4). The purpose of the sacred calendar is for the Jews to determine and declare when the holy days of God are to be observed.

Jesus clearly revealed which Jews were responsible for these holy matters. Jesus declared that “the scribes and the PHARISEES sit in Moses’ seat” of AUTHORITY (Matt. 23:2). God has ordained that the Jews preserve His Word on the Law, Prophets and Writings - despite themselves (Rom. 3:2-3). God will not renege on giving Judah this special calling and precious gift (Gen. 49:10, Rom. 11:29).

God has also ordained that Church officials can make binding decisions based upon biblical legal precedents, affecting Church issues (such as discussed in Acts 15 at the Jerusalem council of elders), that do not undermine the foundation of the Church - the Law and the Prophets (Rom. 11;18; Eph. 2:20). God has not given Church leaders a license to “kill” the brethren by destroying them doctrinally, uprooting and overturning foundational truths, or “playing God” by stealing divine prerogatives! (Matt. 5:17, 19; 2 Thess. 2:3-4).

The correct dates to observe God’s holy days should not be a Church issue, having been settled by God thousands of years ago and preserved throughout the ages by faithful Jews.

So why do we differ on Passover and Pentecost? Because some have refused, rejected, denied and attempted to dismiss the biblical testimony! (Rom. 1:18; 3 John 9-10). We don’t differ because God’s forgotten or neglected to properly instruct His children in His ways (Deut. 6:7). We don’t differ because we’re unable to prove from the Scriptures, beyond a reasonable doubt, what’s right and what’s wrong.

“Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD” (Isa. 1:18), “for the LORD has a controversy with His people, and He will plead with Israel” (Micah 6:2).

We differ because some have questioned God’s right to choose the Jews to preserve the Bible and doubt God’s ability to see that they fulfill their serious responsibility (Ex. 4:11; Isa. 45:9).

We differ because some won’t submit to the biblical fact that Jesus clearly decreed that the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat and attempt to usurp that authority by forcibly installing the Sadducees in that position instead. God destroyed the power-base of the Sadducees when the Temple was destroyed but preserved the Pharisees. The Sadducees are history! We must make sure that we support God’s chosen and not find ourselves in the enemy camp. (I Kgs. 2:27,35; Acts 5:39).

God’s Church, as a general rule, has stubbornly followed the blind Sadducean dates for Passover and Pentecost. That is to our shame! We must reject the rebellious traditions of men for the commandments of God, otherwise God will reject us as His Priest-King (Mark 7:7-9; 1 Sam. 15:23). It’s that serious!

Some, knowing better, continue to enjoy bitter strife and envying, getting caught up in proud personality clashes rather than humbling themselves before the Word of God ( 2 Tim. 2:23-26; Jas. 3:13-18). Truth is truth. It shouldn’t be a matter of “I’m right and you’re wrong,” but what does God’s Word say? God is truth. None of us owns the truth, only God does. Any truth that we might have God’s revealed it to us (1 Cor. 4:6-7). We’re not to take credit for it - all credit goes to God (2 Cor. 4:7).

Thankfully, a growing number of the brethren are beginning to see that the Bible does prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, which holy dates God would have us to observe. Therefore, may we celebrate God’s holy days as He would have us to - “in spirit and in truth” - and praise Him for restoring this truth to His Church!

Neglect is a powerful force…

What is the best way to destroy a garden? You could drown it with too much water, or burn it up with too much fertilizer. You could plow it, chop it, burn it, or pull up all the plants by the roots. But why all the sweat? Just leave it alone, and the weeds and insects will do it for you.

What is the best way to destroy a friendship? You could telephone everyone you know and spread malicious rumors about you friend. You could make false accusations directly to your friend. You could borrow from her and fail to repay. You could write her insulting letters. But why all the sweat? Just leave her alone, and neglect will kill the friendship. Act as if she doesn’t exist. Forget her telephone number. Look the other way when you meet her.

What is the best way to destroy a church? You could vandalize the building by breaking the windows, shredding the hymnals, painting obscenities on the walls. You could disrupt the worship services, be rude to visitors, or tell all the leaders what a miserable mess they are making. But why all the sweat? Just live as if your church doesn’t exist. Ignore it. Don’t go around it. Don’t give to it. Don’t visit it. That part of the church which is you will gradually die of itself.

I think you get the point.

Yes sir, neglect is a powerful force. Is there anything in your life that you’re neglecting? Maybe you should do an inventory of your life, assessing what is important and what is trivial. What about spiritual things? Shouldn’t spiritual matters be important enough to make the top of your list? Jesus said that we are to seek the Kingdom of God first, and then the other things will be added. Maybe it’s true. Life, for the believer, is all about aligning our priorities. When we take care of the “first things” the “second things” will follow naturally.

Remember, Jesus created us to thrive in life. He has given us abundant life in Him. Shouldn’t it be a natural thing to put Him first? If so, why are we neglecting prayer, Bible reading, church attendance, tithing, helping our neighbors, and so on and so on? These things are important too. Joy stands for J-Jesus first, O-others second, and Y-yourself last. The only way to spell joy is to put the “j” first——JESUS!

Keep the faith. Stay the course. Jesus is coming soon!

BSkyB’s New Service Being Promoted as a Solution to Music Piracy

The past few months had seen the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) fume at the rising problem of music piracy and illegal file transfers that have accounted for nearly 95 percent of downloaded music in 2008. Now, BSkyB has announced that it is about to launch a music download service that could solve this problem to a certain extent. The announcement came at the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona.

BSkyB’s new download service for music lovers will also ignite competition with the market-leading and very popular iTunes from Apple. Reportedly, the service would be launched in collaboration with Omnifone. Industry watchers are hoping that it would resolve the ever-escalating problem of music piracy that equated to nearly 40 billion tracks being downloaded worldwide illegally in 2008.

BSkyB’s new offer would see them charge a nominal monthly fee from its customers that would be applicable to both Sky or non-Sky broadband users. In return, the customers would get unrestricted access to digital music downloads. They would have the freedom to browse through millions of catalogues for downloading their favourite tunes and store their music free from any headaches such as those raised by Digital Rights Management.

A BSkyB spokesperson at the event confirmed that they have already entered a deal with Universal Music, a leading brand that represents popular artists like Duffy, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West. It was added that discussions were going on with some independent music labels and hopefully they would be able to tie-up with a few noted music publishers in the near future. Among other measures discussed at the event to prevent music piracy was enforcing a music download ‘tax’.
