On How Subtle Lighting Tricks Can Transform Your Wedding Reception

Posted by admin on April 12, 2010 in Entertaining You

Making an event the best it can be - be it a wedding reception, corporate celebration party, conference or any variety of one-off event - requires using professional props and lighting to set the atmosphere for the occasion. Many function planners neglect mood and concentrate exclusively on venue, food and drink. And what occurs? You have a wonderful location, and great food and drink besides - but these good points are ruined by a brightly lit hall that in turn can destroy the mood. On the other hand, lighting and props can genuinely make a great ambience. Suppose you’re an arriving guest and you stroll into a room with a large starlit background (called an LED starcloth), a projected background, and soft, colourful spotlights dotted around to deliver the purpose of lighting the room, but at the same time producing a tremendous mood. You’d feel you’ve arrived at something tremendous.

One can hear the counter-argument when talking up event lighting. How easy is it to set up? Where can I hire it from? These questions can be replied to via an internet search. I would advocate keying in your city name in addition to keywords such as drape hire - such a keyphrase will speedily supply you with the kind of lighting experts who rent out their lighting gear in your locale.

The E-Lottery System Promises a Prize to Every Participant Playing in the Spanish El Gordo Lotto

Posted by admin on December 15, 2009 in Entertaining You

A key part of the Euromillions Euro lotto is the Elgordo Loteria which you may find it worthwhile to learn about. Promising payouts that can be as high as two point six billion Euros, the lottery claims one of the biggest jackpots worldwide. Nor is this the lottery’s only claim to fame. With over thirteen thousand prizes available the odds of winning something mean that there’s one winning ticket in every six. Pretty good, actually, in comparison to the prizes promoted by comparable lotteries.

Interested in entering this drawing? There are two options; first, you can purchase a full ticket, called a “serie”. The other option is cheaper; called a “d©cimo” which is worth one-tenth of a full ticket. Sadly, both both of these choices are comparatively costly ways to play and they will not improve your odds of a payout . For this reason the e-lottery scheme is popular with many Euromillions Euro lotto players.

There is one draw each month under the banner of the Euromillions Euro lotto. Three months each year play host to special drawings promising even grander prizes. These include the January “El Nio”, the summer “San Ildefonso”, and the Xmas “Elgordo”, literally: “the fatso”, with Christmas’s lottery being the grandest and most popular of the twelve.

Balls each numbered between 00,000 and 84,999 are not what you expect to see from lottery systems, but the Elgordo lottery employs an unusual approach using them. Two bowls are required, with one used to decide the winning number, while the second decides the amount.

Everyone is assured of winning a prize when participating in the e-lottery system. You simply buy your way into the Euromillions Euro Lottery syndicate which will then pool you into teams. With each team having a number between zero and nine, the final digit on the winning ball picks the winners who will take the prize. All members receive their share . Everyone then renews their subscription for the next month’s draw and it starts all over again.

For more suggestions, you are advised to take a gander at this truly record setting webpage for e-lottery syndicate system advice

What Is the Definition of Horoscopes

Posted by admin on October 15, 2009 in Entertaining You

Random House Unabridged Dictionary defines Horoscope as a diagram of heavens, showing the relative position of planets and the signs of the zodiac, for use in calculating births, foretelling events in a person’s life etc. The dictionary further defines horoscopes as a prediction of future events or advice for future behavior based on such a diagram.

American Heritage Dictionary defines Horoscope as an astrological forecast, as of a person’s future, based on a diagram of the aspect of the planets and stars at a given moment. The term Horoscope is derived from a Greek name meaning “a look at the hours.

Horoscope is also called as astrological chart, birth chart, astro-chart, celestial map, sky-map, star-chart, cosmogram, vitasphere, radical chart, radix, or simply chart. Horoscope forms the basis of horoscope traditions of astrology. In layman’s terminology, horoscope means an astrologer’s interpretations of the chart through a system known as sun sign astrology.

Now-a-days, many news papers and magazines carry daily horoscopes depending on the zodiac signs. It is becoming increasingly popular among the masses as it provides them some insights into their lives and they can take a peek into their immediate future. But most astrologers regard these as worthless as horoscopes are highly personalized and their interpretations cannot be generalized to thousands of readers just through one planetary placement.

Astrological interpretations are derived from a horoscope diagram. In the diagram, the earth is placed in the centre and it is surrounded by the planets. To construct a horoscope, an astrologer has to the exact time and place of the subject’s birth, or the initiation of an event. The time is then translated into GMT.

The astrologer uses the time difference between the GMT and local time at the place of birth to show where the planets will be visible above the horizon at the time and place in question. Then, a table of houses is used to divide the horoscope into 12 divisions around the circle of the ecliptic.

Apart from these houses, the astrologers also have to take into account the aspects or relative angles between planets to construct a horoscope. Indian and Chinese zodiac signs are quite different from the accepted western astrological signs.

Step Into High Definition Home Theater

Posted by admin on April 16, 2008 in Entertaining You

For years audiophiles reveled at the new line of speakers,
pre-amps and amplifiers and source components that continued to
get better and better. Today, in terms of capable
audiophile-grade technology, we are literally light years beyond
where we were — even a decade ago.

It has always been this love and passion for audio that PSB and
a few others were built on. And these factors have all played a
major role in the development of our speaker line. Our lineup of
speakers in the Alpha thru the Platinum series all insure that
our customers old and new will find something that meets there
needs while accommodating their budget and listening
preferences.

We simply cannot afford to discard the foundation this company
was built on. And in part, helped to create in the world of
high-fidelity home theater through our passion — through our
products. It was high performance audio that transformed 20-inch
televisions into big screens. It was audio that gave birth to
home theater and yet, in recent years has been left out by many
with the advent of high definition television and
home-theater-in-a-box.

The Road to a New Consumer

During the late ’90s, the consumer electronics industry was
booming, literally with the sounds of multiple speakers pouring
out the doors of retailers. ProLogic became 5.1, and grew into
6.1, 7.1 and beyond. Consumers had more disposable income and
audio seemed to be an appropriate place to dispose of it.

Then, an interesting thing happened. As consumers became
more-and-more obsessed with “everything high resolution;” DVD
players, displays, cameras, printers, etc., the world of high
fidelity took a backseat as a new format of audio became the
craze — MP3. MP3 is probably the best and worst thing to ever
happen to the consumer electronics industry. It was the
low-resolution MP3 format that stunted the growth of the
audiophile and literally placed speaker companies on “pause.”

With a low-resolution format sweeping the globe in popularity –
aimed at the more, faster, cheaper (free downloads anyone?)
consumer, who would bother with paying money for high fidelity?

The consumer electronics industry responded by wielding a gun
and shooting itself in the foot. Yes, I’m talking about “home
theater in-a-box.” Ah yes, a new category aimed at the more,
cheaper, faster animal. Companies once known for televisions
began to manufacture speakers that looked like electric shavers,
and sounded like electric shavers, but nobody knew the
difference, because everything sounded horrible anyway.

High Fidelity Back on Track…Almost

Then another interesting thing happened, the consumer began to
demand improved compression-format audio. And it wasn’t long
after that a couple of companies, armed with marketing budgets
and new compression algorithms created a new form of “lossless”
compressed audio formats.

All at once there were literally millions of music-thirsty
consumers born into a new generation of audiophile. And all at
once we were faced with a new customer — with the same wants
and needs of the customers of yesterday — high performance
sound at reasonable prices.

With literally millions of new audiophiles born of MP3, and
high-definition television sales and programming increasing by
the day, the industry suddenly became quite polarized.
Effectively we have two consumers, the Audiophile and the
Videophile. How ironic that while many readily credit the home
theater industry (and big screens) as being spawned by the
popularity of audio, now in many cases takes at back seat at the
retail level.

High Definition Home Theater

Before the days of the “big screen” it was always audio systems
that made those little television screens seem so much larger.
Sadly, many who are buying plasmas and DLP TVs and anything
high-definition capable spend thousands on the size of the
screen and, yet, invest little into the audio support that it
warrants. Effectively, the videophile defeats itself by not
matching the sound performance to the picture performance.

Let me put it more plainly. You can have high definition video.
And you can have high definition audio. But you can never have
high definition home theater without a balanced marriage between
the two. The demands placed on the industry by audiophiles and
videophiles have helped to shape and improve both audio and
video. In fact, the new trend in flat-panel displays as well as
significantly lower prices on single-gun projectors has created
a new set of challenges in application specific installs. For
example, PSB got into the market to build in-cabinet speakers
early on, and yet waited to see how the emerging markets would
expand before introducing our in-wall and most recently on-wall
speakers. So in essence video buying trends have created new
demands by savvy consumers, and today PSB offers speakers for
literally every installation application.Challenge Yourself

It will take a strong commitment from manufacturers like PSB
Speakers to continue to offer high performance loudspeakers at
reasonable price points, and from dealers who are willing to
stand firm in teaching consumers the benefits of a solid audio
system. Remember home-theater products are built to meet your
needs. So with products built for you and dealers who are
waiting to welcome you into the showroom to demonstrate what has
been built for you. What an exciting time this is for consumers!

Invariably your audio or video purchase will help to shape your
needs. One experiment that we recommend you try (and you can try
this at many of our dealers) is to audition a larger display,
say 50-inches or bigger with a smaller, entry level speaker
package. If it’s an entry-level PSB ensemble then you’ll
probably be quite satisfied. However, now watch the same demo
with the same screen and a larger (higher priced) speaker
package. If you’re really brave, try to find a similar demo on a
smaller screen. Again, you will see the effects for yourself
audio makes or breaks the home theater experience and vice
versa. Our network of dealers is eager to demonstrate the
excitement of true high definition home theater without
expectation because we’re all committed to sharing our passion
for what we do.

PSB Speakers ( http://www.psbspeakers.com ) has been around a
long time and has seen many changes and changing customers. And
we’re certain there are many more to come. In the end, we’re
just happy to be a part of it and enjoy the challenge of
remaining at the forefront of high fidelity sound.

Home Theater Design, Surround Sound Wiring

Posted by admin on April 8, 2008 in Entertaining You

Home Theater design is not a new idea, but it sure is a growing
one! With the prices of large screen displays dropping
substantially, the average tv viewing has increased. Many folks
now have a reciver for video and a receiver for audio. Not to
mention, a DVD player and VHS, high definition, surround sound,
sub woofers and even high definition. Quite a jump from the 13″
black and white televisions of our past.

Most people are finding that not only have the costs of large
screen displays dropped, but so has their audio counterparts.
You can now purchase speakers individually, or in a package.
Receivers can be used to power the audio from your DVD player,
CD player, Satellite or Cable reception or even your FM radio. A
good quality “home theater in a box” can be had for as little as
$300 now days and will provide an obvious increase in viewing
pleasure.

Because of the volume and recent price drops, many people are
now taking into account Home Theater Design. “Surround Sound
Wiring” is possible the most difficult part. Did you know there
are many types of speaker wire that you can use? Speaker Wire can
be had in many gauges, shapes, and lengths. You can find
Flat Speaker
Wire, or
Round Speaker
Wire. The surround sound wiring you plan to do can make a
big difference on what type you chose to use.

If you plan to run your wire through the walls, using a less
expensive
round speaker
wire is fine. The only downfall to running it through the
walls is that if you don’t plan for it ahead of time, you will
find yourself constantly running into unexpected headaches while
trying to drill holes and whatnot. However, when it is all said
and done a good quality
Audio Video Wall
Plate will really clean up your project and leave you with a
professional finish.

If you still perfer round speaker wire, but don’t want to drill,
you can now use a special crown molding thats designed to run
speaker wire through it. This will allow you to run speaker wire
through your entire home theater, exposing a minimum amount of
wire. Be warned, however, that this is not cheap. It does
provide another benifit though. The beauty of crown molding
throughout your home theater will be sure to get attention.

Another option, is flat speaker wire. Invisiwire is
just that. You can run it under carpeting or other floor times,
or right up your wall. If you run it up the wall, simply paint
over it for a camoflauged look. It’s not 100% hidden, but it’s
definately less noticeable and a big help overall. Especially if
you aren’t comfortable with drilling holes in your wall.

The last thing to consider when you start your surround sound
wiring is the location of the speakers. The average 5.1 surround
sound setup has 6 speakers. A Center Channel, two front
speakers, two rear speakers, and one sub woofer. Because bass is
non direction you can locate the sub anywhere. However, there
are some suggestions for the remaining 5.

Locate the center where the tv is. preferrably just above it,
but if your tv already sits high, than just below it is fine.

The two fronts should be right around ear level (when you are
sitting) on either side of the tv. It’s okay to move them around
a bit to find out exactly how far from the tv you want them.
When sounds are buzzing through your room you want to be able to
distinguish a difference from dead center to far right, this
will make viewing more enjoyable and cinematic.

The rears should be above ear level by 12 to 36 inches. Now that
is quite a variable. Most settle in around 24 inches. Again, I
would suggest using this as a guide line and moving them around
a bit until you find the sound that suits you the best.

“Home
Theater Design” and “Surround Sound Wiring” are more of an
art than anything. You can buy all the right products, and
follow all the guidelines, but when it comes down to it… you
need to make sure it fits your viewing habits. With a little
practice and some fine tuning, you’ll get it just right and
you’ll never want to change it!
