The Environmental Initiative

The environment, the government and consumers across the world are demanding more conservation and more environmentally friendly products. Each day we continue to deplete the earth’s natural resources, along with polluting and damaging our eco-system, endangering the future for our children and our children’s children. Science and technology continues to advance, providing more opportunities for the everyday citizen of the world to make a difference and save the earth. Everybody must maintain a sense of social responsibility and help conserve our natural resources and we must take part in protecting the environment.

There continues to be issues with global warming, a depleting ozone layer, deforestation, overflowing landfills and more. If we don’t take action now, when will we take action? If we wait too long, it will be too late.

Everyone can take part in saving the earth, for themselves and for the future of our children. Here are some simple steps to contribute to conserving our resources:

  1. Recycle your magazines, newspapers, soda cans and plastics.
  2. Use dishwasher to full capacity to conserve water.
  3. Carpool or use public transportation.
  4. Shut of lights and electronics when not in use.
  5. Recycle old cell phones and electronics.
  6. Donate used goods to Goodwill.
  7. Avoid using Styrofoam.
  8. Do water your lawn during evening hours when it’s less likely for water to evaporate in the heat.
  9. Wash your car less to conserve water.
  10. Turn off the water faucet when brushing your teeth.
  11. Use recycled products.
  12. Insulate your home.

Smart Brief published an article about the Third Annual CEMEX U.S. Building Awards, which also highlights CEMEX air quality initiatives.
